My research advances the sociology of gender, sociology of sexualities, sociology of family, sociology of race and ethnicity, and sociology of education. I employ both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to examine the life course, with a focus on traditional markers in the transition to adulthood, such as union formation and higher education. My dissertation focuses on investigating the experiences of single adults and how they navigate their relationships, and has been funded by a 2023 NSF/ASA Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant.
My work is published in peer-reviewed academic journals including Sexualities, Journal of Family Issues, Journal of Family Theory and Review, Social Currents, Sociology Compass, The Journal of Higher Education, International Review of Education, American Journal of Criminal Justice, Journal of School Violence, Victims and Offenders, and Research in Social Stratification and Mobility.
